My friend Lauren's birthday was this week. Which means I got to work with craft paper, tape, and sharpie. Ooo! I got to do some wrapping!
I love (definitely more than I should) a flat piece of wrapping taking on the basic form of an object. The shape of a gift! The dimensions of giving, ya know? A visual blurb! Bye!
This is my Matisse exhibition-goer from the 80s, possibly early 90s.
I joined a private tour of "Matisse: The Cut-Outs" at MoMA this week. Got to see, up close, the vibrant, abstract scraps that became his world in his last decade. I especially liked the pinholes left on each cut-out, the traces of his feverish snipping process over 60 years ago.
I saw Sam Waterston on the tour, too.
Got my tote that I designed for the Citizen Jane Film Festival! The bag features mini-portraits of women in my life that inspire me.
I'm so glad to have been a part of the festival again this year celebrating award-winning films and the women who make them.
